Van Heyneker Cabinet and Furniture Makers is owned and operated by Josie and Van Heyneker. Both classical musicians with considerable time spent oversees, they turned their talents to the art of woodworking more than 20 years ago and have gained a loyal following of disciminating clients.

They produce commission-based, one-of-a-kind pieces in their Mendenhall shop, ranging from mahogany home libraries with custom bookcases to unique kitchen cabinetry to solid wood furniture that promises to be tomorrow's heirlooms. They are also proficient in antique furniture restoration that involves carving, lathe work, veneer, inlay, and finishes.

In addition to their work for homeowners, builders, and architects, the Heynekers have helped the Brandywine River Museum, Winterthur Museum, Delaware Art Museum, and others to solve difficult design and fabrication problems.
